R Sriram

With an abiding belief that books and reading are fundamental, Sriram is grateful to have had the opportunity to co-found and build India's largest bookstore chain Crossword, an innovative brand that remains relevant and dominant 33 years hence.
Post Crossword, he has been engaged in advising enterprises and entrepreneurs create, deliver and capture value. He specialises in guiding organisations through their strategy development and has advised a variety of organisations across sectors and stages, both in India and overseas, from startups to large-scale businesses, across diverse domains.
Sriram has been committed to giving back and has served and supported a number of nonprofits in India. He is currently the Chairperson of the nonprofit Pratham Books that serves millions of children and educators both in India and globally. Its open-source digital platform StoryWeaver offers over 68,000 books in 379 languages that are all free to read, download and share.
He also serves as a trustee of the non-profit 'Society For Nutrition Education & Health Action' (SNEHA) that works in the areas of malnutrition, maternal and child health, as well as violence against women and children.
Sriram has been a passionate advocate of entrepreneurship and has served on the board, and as President of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) Mumbai, a nonprofit that works to foster entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship. He has also served on the boards and advisory boards of many other Indian companies over the years.
Sriram has been a guest lecturer at India’s leading business schools IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Lucknow among others. He remains a student, and a work-in-progress.
